FAQs

Q:
Are there any costs involved for me when I sell my gold jewellery to Get Cash For Gold?
A: No. Selling your gold items to us is absolutely free of charge. The postage on our Gold Packs is prepaid and the package is insured up to £500. Even if you ask us to return your gold, you will incur no additional costs.
Q:
Are your payouts higher than a jewellery store or pawnshop?
A: Payouts are likely to be higher as we are an online operation. We do not have to pay rent at expensive High Street locations and we operate on a larger scale, therefore we can afford to pay you top prices for your items.
Q:
Why does Get Cash For Your Gold not give a guaranteed quote on the website?
A: The price of gold fluctuates on a daily basis. Also, until items are analysed we have no way of independently verifying the weight and purity of the piece. Since any price we would quote in advance of receiving your items would be different from the actual offer, we simply avoid this practice and instead give you an indication of what it might be worth with our calculator.
Q:
Is it safe to send valuable gold items via mail?
A: Yes. Our Gold Packs are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery™ Next Day with pre-paid insurance up to £500. If you wish to insure your items for more than £500, you may do so by choosing a compensation level of up to £2,500. You will have to pay for higher insurance levels yourself at the Post Office when posting your items to us.
Q:
How will I know if you receive my items?
A: With the Pack also comes your own special client number and you can use the Royal Mail website to track delivery.  We will send you an email  notifying you of the receipt of your items.
Q:
What is the Gold Pack?
A: The Gold Pack is comprised of all the postage materials you will need to send your items back to us. It contains a re-sealable  Royal Mail Special Delivery™pouch, and a form on which you provide us with your payment information. We provide you with all the materials you need and pay the cost of postage and insurance of up to £500.
Q:
What items does Get Cash For Your Gold accept?
A: We primarily accept anything containing gold including rings, charms, necklaces, chains, brooches, earrings, cufflinks, pins and any other jewellery. You can also send us coins, collectible items and decorative items. While we focus on gold you can also send us items containing other precious metals such platinum, however we do not buy silver.
Q:
What about diamonds and other gemstones?
A: We are able to accept items that include gemstones, however, we are solely focused on the recycling of gold and other precious metals and therefore we do not offer a payout for any gemstones included in your items. If you would like to keep the gemstones for any reason, we recommend that you remove them before sending in the Gold Pack as some stones may be damaged by the evaluation process. However, it is not necessary to remove the stones if you do not wish to keep them.
Q:
When will I get my payment?
A: We will submit your payment within 24 hours after the assessment of your items. Please allow 1-3 days for the Royal Mail to deliver payments by cheque to you.
Q:
What happens to non-precious items?
A: Get Cash For Your Gold will keep any items that do not contain precious metals, you can opt to have these items to be returned to you at your expense. In the case of returning non-precious items we will deduct a fee of £10 from your Get Cash For Your Gold payout to cover return postage and processing.
Q:
Can I still change my mind after receiving a payout?
A: Get Cash For Your Gold offers a 100% Satisfaction or Gold-Back Guarantee. If you are not happy with your payout, simply notify us by Email and return the cheque. We will then return your jewellery to you instantly. Only when a period of 7 days has passed since we issued the payment will we melt the gold. Once your item has been melted and the gold has been refined it cannot be recovered.
